Lacy Smiley Face, Free

This little Smiley is ready to spread sunshine to someone who needs it. It is such a happy pattern that I am sharing it for free. If you can knit two together and do a yarnover you can knit this pattern. The sample was knit by Lynn.

One ball of cotton yarn, size 7 needles Cast on 43 Stitches, K = knit, p = purl,
k2tog = knit 2 together, yo = yarn over. X means to repeat the stitches in parentheses as many times as the number before the x.
Stitches in [ ] are border stitches, you may substitute the border of your choice.
This pattern is a tiny bit wider and shorter than my usual patterns.
You will always have 43 stitches every row. The stitch count does not change from row to row. Yarn overs (yo) count as a stitch.

That pattern is great! I'm new to knitting and am always on the lookout for projects to try. I wanted to pass along a site I found that has a few basic how to videos with tips on knitting. I'm not sure if you're interested in how to knit videos, but I found these useful when I was just starting out.
